Summer 93 !
Hey Now, I thought this was a good run of shows for summer of 93. It was nice to see the band inside rather than a large arena. I had taper tickets for both shows. Everyone in the taper section was freaking on my new at the time Sony D7 DAT. I patched out of some Nak 300's, my tape sounded good because Healy had the sound tweaked right. I specifically recall some tapers talking to him before the show (in hopes of a soundboard patch!) and Healy says, "we love Freedom Hall because we can make it sound so good here…" .
The 1st set is well played, highlights are: Eternity was tight , almost sounded rehearsed, Brown Eyed Women, and even Easy Answers wasn't too bad.
The second set was also well played for the most part… the jam on the end of Corinna is not long but is really rocked out, Stella Blue is also very good…
As for this recording , it's a nice matrix. The soundboard in my opinion is sterile , and almost sounds MP3 ish .. I'm still looking for a taper section aud that is superior … 1993 was a good year overall.
